About Japanomars

OUR BEGINNING

You care about what goes into your cup. So do we. Japanomars connects independent cafe owners directly with Japanese tea farmers, people we've visited ourselves, in every region we source from.

Our Story

You want to serve the real thing. You want your staff to take pride in their work. And you want quality you can count on, at a price that makes sense.

What we offer is not just matcha. It is the story behind it, the history of the farmers who grew it, and the substance that backs your brand's belief.

There is matcha out there that is cheap, mass-produced, and made without conviction. Some people want that. We do not.

What we believe in is the invisible. Deep connection, trust, and history passed down through generations. These things cannot be bought.

In Japan, there are families who have cultivated tea on the same land for centuries. They know the climate, the water, the soil. Until now, only luxury hotels and renowned chefs had access to these farmers.

Japanomars exists to open that door for cafe owners who share the same conviction.

Why I Do This 🤔

I have deep respect for the founders building something meaningful, and equally for those who support them with the same vision. I want to support you with that same belief.

The community you are building is truly one of a kind.

Not just for profit, but because they genuinely want to make this world a little better. You are rare. You are brave enough to act on what you believe.

The world is being reshaped by software and machines. And precisely because of that, real human connection is something we have to reach out and hold onto.

The most important thing is trust you can touch. Time spent together in the same room, breathing the same air, sharing a meal, laughing at the same moment.

I happened to be born in an ordinary family in Japan. What I can offer is still limited. But through matcha, I want to support you with everything I have.

I build that kind of trust across borders, using technology as a bridge, not a replacement.

Voices from Our Cafe Partners

“Hiroshi guided us through Kyoto and Sayama. We visited a farmer's home for a matcha tasting and even showed them how we make our lattes. The experience went far beyond what I expected, and I'm truly grateful.”

“Working with Hiroshi has been one of the most valuable relationships. He opened the door to matcha farmers in Japan we never could have reached on our own, guiding us not just to the highest-quality matcha, but to growers whose craft genuinely matches our standards. What sets Hiroshi apart is his dedication. He treats our pursuit of quality as if it were his own, and that care shows in every introduction he makes. We’re grateful for his partnership and the trust he’s helped us build at the source.”

“For our specialty coffee cafe, telling customers where our matcha comes from and who grows it really matters. We can do that thanks to Hiroshi's strong ties with the regions and the farmers. I'm looking forward to his continued support.”

“We use Kyoto-grown matcha at our café, and the quality is consistently exceptional — wonderfully traditional with a refined, clean flavour profile. Hiroshi takes the time to explain the origins and characteristics of each matcha in detail, which we’re able to share directly with our customers. Having hojicha available alongside the matcha has been a wonderful addition to our menu.”

“We traveled together through Kyoto, Ureshino, and Kagoshima. The shinkansen and car rides are great memories. Learning the roots of matcha was a priceless experience. We hope to keep connecting with farmers and share matcha across Seattle.”

“Visiting the farms deepened my understanding of how matcha is made, and I got to experience Japan along the way. Even back in the US, our regular meetings keep us connected. I hope to have their support with matcha for a long time.”

“Hiroshi guided me around the farms so I could learn how the matcha we handle is cultivated. Since it was during a family trip, I was also able to bring my family along, which made it a memorable experience for us all. Being able to see the local production firsthand is extremely helpful for explaining the product to customers and for branding purposes, so I highly recommend visiting!”

“I first connected with Hiroshi through email. From the beginning, he was responsive, professional, and guided me through the entire process step by step. Thanks to his support, I was able to successfully purchase and import high-quality matcha with confidence. One of the things I am most excited about is the opportunity to visit the farmers who actually produce the matcha through Hiroshi’s network. I look forward to continuing our partnership and working together in the future.”

As global demand for matcha grows, the supply of Japanese matcha remains critically constrained.

Population aging and climate change mean that meaningful supply expansion is unlikely in the years ahead.

Given the competitive sourcing environment, we strongly encourage early contact to secure your order.
